The Treasure hunt

Writer: T. LapatutuT. Lapatutu

One sunny afternoon, a father created a treasure map for his little boy. The treasure hunt began in the bedroom and would take the little boy to three stops before reaching the final destination: the garage.

The little boy was bursting with excitement as he set off on his quest. His father followed closely behind, promising to remain quiet and let his son take the lead.

As the little boy followed the map, he spotted the first clue stuck to the bathroom door. "Here's the first clue!" he exclaimed. He carefully read the instructions: "DO NOT MISS ANY STEP."

"Easy peasy!" the little boy said confidently, feeling sure he would find the treasure in no time. He continued his journey, following the map to the dining room. There, he found another paper stuck under the table with the same message: "DO NOT MISS ANY STEP."

The little boy chuckled, thinking it was too easy. "Why is it saying the same thing?" he wondered.

According to the map, the next stop was the kitchen. When he arrived, he saw another paper stuck to the fridge. This time, he decided to skip it, assuming it was the same message again.

His father quietly followed him. The final stop on the map was the garage, marked with a big X. The little boy rushed in, eager to claim his treasure. "Hurrah! I've found it!" he shouted, lifting his arms like a triumphant sea captain.

But when he read the paper stuck below the X, he was surprised: "YOU HAVE ALREADY FOUND THE TREASURE. WELL DONE." The little boy looked puzzled and turned to his father. "But I haven't found the treasure yet!"

His father gently pointed out the kitchen stop again. The little boy returned to the kitchen and retrieved the paper he had skipped earlier. To his surprise, it read: "THE TREASURE IS HERE. YOU WILL GO TO THE PLAYGROUND NEXT SUNDAY. NOW FINISH THE HUNT."

The little boy's face fell as he realized his mistake. "Oh, Daddy, I missed the treasure!" he exclaimed. His father took this opportunity to teach his son a valuable lesson: "Yes son, you became too confident and stopped following all the instructions. You skipped the most important one."

The little boy learned a valuable lesson that day: the importance of following instructions carefully and not becoming too confident.

Just as the little boy needed to follow the treasure map carefully, we all need to follow God's instructions and trust in His journey for our lives. When we do, we'll find the ultimate treasure: eternal life with Jesus Christ.
