One day a little girl and her mother sat in the living room in the evening. The little girl was coloring as her mother was watching the news.

"I won't let these dear old people be treated unfairly on their land!" a woman said during the news.

The little girl's attention was captured by this statement. She didn't understand everything, but she knew the woman was helping the old people.

“Mummy, is that woman on TV going to help the old people?” the little girl asked her mother.

“Oh yes, she is doing something very amazing.” The mother told her, using the opportunity to explain further. “She is a lawyer!”

“What is a lawyer?” the little girl asked her mother innocently.

The mother looked at her little girl and said, “A lawyer is someone that talks to people, listens to their problems, and helps them find solutions. They are like a super-helpful grown-up who makes sure everyone follows the rules and gets a fair chance.”

"So that woman on the TV is helping the old people find a solution?" the little girl asked, pointing to the screen.

"Yes she is!" the mother said. "Some people wanted to come and remove them from their homes without their permission. But she is going to help them."

The little girl squeezed her eyebrow. "That's not fair!" she said nodding her head as if she understood the entire news story.

"No, that's not fair!" the mother said. "But lucky for them, they have a lawyer to help them."

The little girl looked on in amazement at the work the lawyer on TV was doing.

"Wow! She is like a super hero going to help the old people!"

"In a way, she is," the mother smiled. “And one day, you could do something just as amazing, using the gifts God has given you to serve others."

"Me?" the little girl asked, her eyes sparkling.

"Yes, you!" the mother said to her. "Just like the lawyer, God has also given you a special gift and I believe as you grow, you will use that gift to serve others."
